This Doctor Thinks He Knows What’s Causing Rise in Autism

Autism has been on the rise, it seems like more children have the disorder than before. While there are more people being properly diagnosed with something we didn’t have the information about before, there is indisputable evidence that the number of children with the disorder is growing. Some people blame this on vaccines, but that has been debunked multiple times. Vaccines and Immunizations do not cause Autism. But some research has been suggesting that BPAs (bisphenol-As) could be linked. Correlation does not equal causation. pediatrician Paul Wang, the Autism Speaks organization’s head of medical research stated about the study, “this doesn’t prove that BPA causes autism. But it illustrates why some individuals might be more affected by toxic exposures than others.” BPA is found in plastic coating, like in cans of vegetables. It’s a synthetic compound that once absorbed can mimic estrogen and disrupt the body. It is still believed to be mostly safe, but there needs to be more research done. It will be interesting to see what further studies tell us.
