Wheat has gluten a protein that many people have trouble digesting.  Often it causes Vitamin D deficiency in the body. It raises the  blood sugar quickly and than drops leading to hunger pangs  for more carb. Whole wheat bread has a rating of 71 on the glycemic index like white flour. Eating food high on this index promotes weight gain, diabetes, and other illnesses.

It contains a substance called phytic acid the prevents certain minerals and vitamins from being used in the body. It is not a good source of protein for the body.Wheat breaks down into sugar so eating two slices of whole wheat bread is like eating two tablespoons of sugar. It contains a substance that is a know toxin known called sodium azide used in processing. It does have fiber but you can get healthier fiber from fruits and vegetables.

Millet is a gluten free grain that is made up of several grass seed world wide. It is found primarily in health food stores. Studies have shown that regular consumption of the grain leads to thyroid problems and loss of iodine in the body.  Iodine is needed in the body and without it, we develop goiter, thyroid problems, and it causes problems in developing infants. Millet has a substance in it that impairs the iodine and thyroid from functioning properly.  The minerals and vitamins millet has are not absorbed by the body.

Some types of millet might contain gluten because they are grown near other grains or processed using the same equipment. This means that cross contamination often occurs in processing. Many companies do not test the finals product to see if it is gluten free.  These are some reasons eating too much millet is not be good for your overall health.
